With four games left on the schedule Bay Area (8-4) holds a 3 ½ game lead over the Winchester Storm (3-6). They can clinch a tie for the division title this weekend with a win by the Shuckers and a loss by the Storm, who host the APBL’s leading team, the Rockville Victors (9-1) Saturday. The Shuckers continue to be paced in scoring by Terry Hosley, who had 40 points against the Avengers and is averaging 34 points per game, and Gus Chase who has posted 23.50 points a game.
Kingz Snapshot: After a 2-3 start the Kingz have reeled off four straight wins. In those four wins they have outscored opponents 130.25 to 111.50 per game. Last weekend, in their win against the Brooklyn Firebirds, Doug Herring Jr. set a new APBL record with 64 points. The Kingz (6-3) sit two games behind the Palmieri Jeans Destroyers (9-2) in the Northern Conference Gateway Division.
Outlook: Fans can look for lots of points this weekend. The Shuckers enter the game averaging 122.72 while the Kingz have been scoring at a rate of 125.11 points a game. Both teams have also given up a lot of buckets with Bay Area allowing opponents to score 120.54 points per game and Hudson Valley 119. Shuckers are 3-0 against the Northern Conference this season and 7-1 dating back to last season against northern foes. They are also 5-2 this season at home at “The Reef.”
