Shuckers Win Third in a Row, Second in a Row Against One Loss Team
Severn, MD (February 2, 2013) - For the second game in a row the Bay Area Shuckers (7-3) defeated one of the American Professional Basketball League's best; this week besting the Metropolitan All-Stars (10-2) 124-117.
Last week the Shuckers beat the Gateway Division leading Palmieri Jeans Destroyers (9-2) and this week they topped the Patriot Division leaders, the All-Stars.
The win was the third in a row for the Shuckers and their fourth in five games. They also ran their home record this season to 5-1. Bay Area was led in scoring by Terry Hosley (Parkville/Maryland Bible) with 36 points, Gus Chase (St. Frances) added 31 and Danny Thompson (Mount St. Mary's) was named the Coffee News Player of Game for his 18 point, 12 rebound, five block performance.
With the win the Shuckers topped their win total for last season (six). The Shuckers also were notified by the APBL that they would be awarded a forfeit win for their canceled game againt the West Virginia Monarchs on January 6, 2013. With the forfeit their record moves to 8-3 and they hold a 3 1/2 game lead with five games left on the regular season schedule.
