Defending Champions Pull Away in Final Minute to Secure Win
Severn, MD (December 15, 2012) - The Bay Area Shuckers fell to the reigning American Professional Basketball League (APBL) champions, the Beltway Bombers (4-1), 130-122 on Saturday night. Despite the loss the Shuckers continue to lead the APBL's Colonial Division with a 3-2 record. Terry Hosley (Parkville/Maryland Bible) led the Shuckers in scoring with 35 points, while teammate Gus Chase (St. Frances) posted 34 points and added 8 rebounds. Danny Thompson (Mount St. Mary's) continued his rebound binge pulling in 19, while posting 21 points. Rocky Coleman (Walbrook/Towson) had a solid all-round game with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Mike McKenzie (Meade) led the Shuckers will 11 assists.
Following the APBL's holiday break the Shuckers return to action on Saturday, January 5th at 7:00 PM at home against the Winchester (Virginia) Storm (1-2).
