Bay Area Guard Leads League in Scoring with 39.6 Average
Severn, MD (December 5, 2012) – Terry Hosley of the Bay Area Shuckers has been named the Macleem Sports Player of The Month for the American Professional Basketball League (APBL). Hosley averaged 39.67 points per game in the APBL’s opening month of play in leading the Shuckers to a 2-1 start and first place in the ACPL’s Colonial Division. Hosley’s finest performance was a 56-point outing in a 120-111 loss at the Metropolitan All-Stars this past Sunday.
Hosley started the month off by pacing the Shuckers to a 125-118 win over NYC 524 in Brooklyn, New York on November 10th. He posted 35 points, four rebounds, six assists, and one steal while netting two three-pointers.
Returning home on November 17th he led the Shuckers to 115-101 win victory over division rivals, the Nova Hawks. In that contest he scored 28 points while grabbing four rebounds, and tallying three assists and two steals.
On December 2nd the Shuckers travelled down the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to take on the All-Stars in D.C. Hosley set a Bay Area franchise record with 56 points while totaling five rebounds, six assists, four steals and hitting six three-pointers.
For the month he averaged 39.67 points per game, 4.33 rebounds a contest, and 5 assists each game, while totaling seven steals and nine three-pointers.
“We were very proud when Terry was named to the All-Star Game and All-League team last season, but he has rocketed to an even greater start this season. We continue to look for him to be successful through the entire season,” said Shuckers General Manager John Wolfe.
The Bay Area Shuckers are members of the American Professional Basketball League (APBL). The APBL is a 16-team professional league with clubs from Virginia in the south to the Hudson Valley of New York in the north and with teams in the major metropolitan areas of Washington D.C., Baltimore, Maryland, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, New York, and New York, New York. The Shuckers are members of the Colonial Division with the Nova Hawks, West Virginia Monarchs, and the Winchester (Virginia) Storm.
The Shuckers (2-1) return home on Saturday, December 8th at 7:00 PM to face the North Jersey Pros (2-1). Tickets are available for just $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
