Cody White, All-Conference, All-State Prep Standout, and Wesley Top Rebounder Signs
Severn, MD (September 16, 2012) – Cody White, who was an All-Conference and All-State prep performer in Delaware before becoming a leading rebounder at Wesley College, has been signed by the Bay Area Shuckers of the American Professional Basketball League (APBL).
“One of our main goals in the offseason was to increase our strength on the boards, and Cody certainly provides that. He has had a strong camp so far and we continue to look for good things from him,” commented Bay Area Shuckers General Manager John Wolfe.
A four year letterman at Sussex Technical High School in Georgetown, Delaware, the 6’5”, 210 pound White piled up a number of accolades in his senior (2003-2004) season. He was named 1st Team All-Conference, 2nd Team All-State, played in the 2004 Blue-Gold All-Star Game, featuring Delaware’s finest high school players, and also won the Blue Gold All-Star Game Dunk Contest. He had career highs for the Ravens of 28 points and 22 rebounds per game.
Following graduation he moved on to Wesley College of Dover, Delaware and made an immediate impact. Playing in 28 games as a freshman he led the team in rebounds with 7.107 per game while adding 6.19 points per game. As a sophomore he again dominated the boards for the Wolverines leading the team with 8.15 rebounds per game while scoring 8.30 points per contest. The following season he averaged 5.69 rebounds and 6.42 points per game.
In three seasons with Wesley he amassed 559 rebounds (6.98 per game) and 556 points (6.95 points per game) while contributing 109 steals, 61 assists, and 39 blocks.
