Opportunity for Local Talent to Show Skills to Pro Team

Severn, MD (August 8, 2012) – The Baltimore area has long been a hotbed for basketball talent. This Saturday players can show that talent to the Bay Area Shuckers, as the local American Professional Basketball League (APBL) team begins to form its roster for the 2012-2013 season.

“We are expecting a very competitive tryout this weekend. There are many spots open on our training camp roster and there will be a lot of players battling for those spots,” noted Shuckers General Manager John Wolfe.

The tryout will be held at Leadership Through Athletics, which is located at 2900 Hammonds Ferry Road, Lansdowne, MD 21227, on Saturday, August 11th. Registration/check-in will start at 4:00 PM and tryouts will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Some players from the August 11th tryout may be invited back to another tryout on August 18th. These players will not be charged a fee for the 18th. Players who cannot attend the tryout on the 11th, but would like to attend on the 18th may still attend with a registration fee.

The Bay Area Shuckers are members of the American Professional Basketball League (APBL), a professional basketball league in major metropolitan areas including Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Manhattan, New York, and Brooklyn, New York.

Four Shuckers players from last season have played or are scheduled to play overseas this year including Adrian Bowie (Germany), Earl Jackson (Peru), Zac White (Australia), and Jamarr Johnson (Indonesia).
