Bay Area Completes First Regular Season Schedule at 6-8
Severn, MD (April 17, 2012) – Despite 30 point performances by Terry Hosley and Lamarr Shorts the Bay Area Shuckers were topped by Palmieri Jeans in a high scoring affair in Philadelphia Saturday 152-138.
The loss ended the Shuckers inaugural regular season at 6-8. Terry Hosley led the Shuckers with 32 points, while Lamarr Shorts had a break out performance with 31 points, including a team record six three-pointers. Three more Shuckers, Jamarr Johnson (18), Zac White (17), and Adrian Bowie (13) had double digit scoring performances and Johnson had a double-double by adding 11 rebounds. White also contributed eight boards.
The Shuckers now await their second round playoff performance after earning a first round bye, when the Hudson Valley Kingz defeated the Manhattan Pride 120-109 on Saturday night. The Kingz win forced New York City 524 into a tie-breaker with the Shuckers, which the Shuckers won based on their 130-108 victory over NYC on January 14th.
This Saturday the Palmieri Jeans (12-1) travel to the Beltway Bombers (10-3). A Bombers win will earn them the league’s #2 seed and send the Shuckers to Hartford to face the Lightning (11-3). A Bombers loss would give them the #3 seed and they would host the Shuckers in a second round game.
The ACPBL Final Four will take place in Hartford on May 5th and 6th.
